Unbound Worship

Three years ago, my prayer partner and I eagerly waited to pray at our first high school. We positioned ourselves one block from the school, excited to engage with the students and discover what God had in store for us. As we looked towards the school, we were taken aback by the sight of about a hundred teenagers approaching us. Each one dressed entirely in black, creating an overwhelming sense of depression and oppression. Their heads were bowed, and their fingers were busy scrolling on their phones.
Within a few months, I realized this generation is lacking a sense of joy. Many of the students we prayed with asked for relief from depression, anxiety, stress, and several even had suicidal thoughts. As our ministry expanded and others formed prayer teams, they also encountered this "sea of darkness" at their schools. As time passed, God started to speak to my heart, and I consistently heard, "Teach them to worship, and the spirit of darkness will lift."
One day, I was discussing this with my new prayer partner, Marty Spencer. She was a teacher and advisor for the Christian club, Students for Christ, at Centennial High School. She mentioned that she had begun planning a worship concert on campus with her Christian club in the spring of 2020, but it was canceled due to Covid. Together, we revived the idea, and now, five years later, we are just days away from making that vision a reality.

Get ready for an unforgettable experience this Saturday, May 10th! Join us and Gen Z for a worship event like no other on Centennial's football field.
